Overhead Crane Operator Safety Training
Theory - 4 Hours
Practical – 15 minutes per Participant
Overhead Crane’s such as Bridge Cranes or Traveling Overhead Bridge Cranes, Gantry Cranes, and Jib Cranes are often found in the industrial setting, which typically include manufacturing, factories and warehouse establishments, to assist in raising and lowering loads that may be too large, or too heavy for workers to move on their own. This program is designed for new Operators, as well as those experienced Operators and Train-the-Trainers looking to refresh their certification. All industrial Overhead Crane Operators are required to be competent in the use of Overhead Cranes they operate and must demonstrate a secure knowledge of safe operation.

Overhead Crane Practical Training
Practical training includes a competency evaluation of each Operator. Trainers observe the Operators conducting tasks they would typically perform at the workplace and will be evaluated on how safely they perform these tasks. For new Operators, it is recommended that once the Theory portion of the program has been successfully completed, the participant returns to the workplace and practice operating the equipment under the supervision of a Competent Operator.
